Recycled Sari Silk Yarn
Our Indian and Nepalese sari silk yarns are made in womens' cooperatives using textile waste remnants from mills. The yarns' popularity has allowed these women to earn much needed income working from home. Each group of skeins is slightly unique, as each woman works with slightly different colors and materials in her own way.
I have washed these yarns, and the dye in some of the fibers will run a bit. Thus, wash with similar colors or wash separately. Also, since no two skeins are alike, if you are concerned about striping when making a larger item, alternate between skeins at strategic intervals to allow the slightly different colors ways to "visually mix."
Please see our About Sari Silk page for more information.
