Hemp is our greenest product!  We offer hemp on economy-size balls for macrame artists, crocheters, and knitters, as well as on large cones for weavers and heavy-duty users.

Hemp, like linen, is a bast fiber; hemp is as strong as linen and--like linen--it softens with washing and drying. You can weave, knit, or use any other technique with hemp as with linen.  After washing and drying, a hemp fiber will be as soft and as pliable as one made from linen.

Please note:  Although some of our hemp on large cones is out of stock for some weights, a new order is due in from Romania at any time, so please check back if we are missing what you need.

The 12-strand yarn is worsted weight, 438 meters/480 yd/lb
The 6-strand yarn is dk weight, 754 meters/825 yd/lb.
The 3-strand yarn is fingering weight, 1463 meters/1600 yd/lb
